Initial survey

When tree data is recorded for the first time, the iSiMAN user not only enters standard information about the tree but also the findings of a visual inspection, along with any recommendations for treework. This initial information can be supplemented with GPS coordinates and photos of the tree. If tags are then attached, tree managers can easily identify individual trees in any given area.

Data management

The three main tasks that are usually carried out at the office computer are:

• transfer of data between the PocketPC and the central tree register
• use of the task management function to oversee all necessary treework
• creation of thematic maps or diagrams for planning purposes or public relations work
